Field guide
Set up once, then just ski.
Skibuddy takes about a minute of setup before the first session. After that, pressing Start at the beginning of your loop is the whole routine.
Step 1
Pair your heart-rate strap
Tap the heart on the session screen and scan. Any standard Bluetooth chest strap works. Skibuddy saves the strap and reconnects it at every later start, even in the background.
Step 2
Choose your pocket
Tell Skibuddy where the phone rides. In a chest or jacket pocket Skibuddy measures technique, stride rate, glide and balance; in a pants pocket it measures stride rate and switches balance off.
Step 3
Declare the technique
Pick Classic, Skate or Mixed before you start. The Smart Coach compares each session only with earlier sessions in the same technique.
Step 4
Start at the gate
Press Start where your loop begins, at the stadium or the trailhead. Skibuddy sets the lap gate there. For stadium sprints under 400 meters, switch on Short Loop Mode first.
Step 5
Ski
Skibuddy closes each lap at the gate and reads it out to you. Follow the session on the Lock Screen, or tap the moon button for the black screen. To lap from somewhere new, set a new gate where you stand.
Step 6
Save the snow
At the finish, pick the snow condition, your skis and wax, how the session felt and who can see it, then save. Skibuddy shows the Smart Coach's note for the day at the top of the summary.
Step 7
Mark your checkpoints
Open a finished session, choose Create Segment and slide to the top of the climb or the bridge you always check. Skibuddy splits every later session there.
