What's new in Skibuddy.

Follow Skibuddy as it grows: what ships in the app, and what each change means on the trail.

September 2026

  1. Launch

Skibuddy keeps a wax room for your skis

Skibuddy records the skis, glide wax and kick wax of every session, counts the kilometers on each pair and ranks your setups by glide against your own average for each snow condition.

    The wax room →
  2. Launch

Coaches plan sessions and follow the roster's week

A coach plans a session for one athlete or several, the athlete starts it from the plan, and a week view shows every athlete's planned and completed sessions side by side.

  3. Launch

Skibuddy puts the session on your Apple Watch

The watch app opens when a session starts and shows the timer, the lap, your last lap against your average, heart rate and distance, with a tap on the wrist at every lap.

    Live session →
  4. Launch

Skibuddy speaks up when your balance drifts on a climb

With technique cues on, Skibuddy tells you out loud when your left/right balance leaves 45 to 55% on a climb. Spoken laps and cues each have their own switch.

    Technique →
  5. Improvement

The Smart Coach suggests the snow and stays with the session

The Smart Coach now suggests a snow condition for you to apply instead of changing it, its note stays on the session for you and your coach, and you can correct the snow after saving.

    Snow and Smart Coach →
  6. Improvement

Athletes decide what each coach can do

Coach by coach, an athlete chooses whether that coach can plan sessions and see the health profile.

  7. Improvement

Skibuddy names routes and climbs in your language

Skibuddy names auto-created routes and climbs in your language and units, and speaks your units everywhere, including the live distance tile.

    Loops and laps →
  8. Improvement

Skibuddy resumes an interrupted session where it stopped

After an interruption, Skibuddy restores the time, distance, laps and lap gate, and never uploads anything from a session you discard.

  9. Improvement

Skiers can report a post and block an account

Report any session, comment or profile, and Skibuddy hides a blocked skier from your feed, your comments and people search.

  10. Launch

Skibuddy speaks Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish

Skibuddy now speaks English, Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish across the app, the spoken lap times, the Live Activity and the permission prompts. You choose kilometers or miles in the settings.

  11. Launch

Skibuddy notifies you of likes, comments and roster requests

August 2026

  1. Improvement

Skibuddy asks whether you ski, coach or both

New skiers choose athlete, coach or both, find their club and connect with their coach before the first session.

  2. Launch

Skibuddy builds a history for every route and climb

Skibuddy turns every session of a kilometer or more into a route and every sustained hill into a climb, adds later sessions to their history and lines up hill repeats rep by rep.

    Loops and laps →
  3. Launch

Skibuddy saves sessions to Apple Health

Skibuddy saves each session as a cross-country skiing workout with its route, heart rate and distance.

  4. Improvement

Skibuddy tests multi-loop sessions on replayed traces

Skibuddy's replay suite runs synthetic loops of 3.63, 5.42 and 7.43 km with modeled GPS noise through the lap engine, and every loop has to close as its own lap.

    Loops and laps →

Clubmates like and comment on any shared session in the feed, and Skibuddy updates the counts for everyone.
