Nobody takes a glove off at minus ten for a split. Skibuddy speaks every lap out loud, through your earbuds or the phone's speaker, and keeps the session on the Lock Screen, so you leave the phone zipped in your jacket.

Skibuddy speaks every lap
When a lap closes, Skibuddy says the time, how many seconds faster or slower it was than your average and your average heart rate. Skibuddy speaks in the app's language and lowers your music while it talks. On screen, Skibuddy adds your last lap and your best.
Read the session without unlocking
Skibuddy's Live Activity keeps the running timer, distance, pace and current heart rate on the Lock Screen, with the lap timer, your previous lap and the lap average and maximum underneath. The Dynamic Island shows the lap and the total, so you never unlock the phone.
Skibuddy puts the session on your wrist
With an Apple Watch paired, Skibuddy opens its watch app when you start a session and keeps it running until you finish. The watch shows the timer, the lap, your last lap against your average, heart rate and distance, and taps your wrist at every lap. You can take a lap or pause from the watch too.
Skibuddy shows heart rate from your chest strap on the watch. Without a strap, the watch shows its own reading.

Glove off, phone out
Unlock, find the app, squint at a split in low sun, zip it away again. Twice a lap.
Skibuddy
"Lap 2 completed in 21 minutes, 52 seconds."
Twenty-seven seconds faster than average. Average heart rate 165. You keep the glove on.
Skibuddy goes black on the lit track
On an OLED iPhone a black pixel is an unlit pixel. Skibuddy's black screen shows the timer, lap, distance, stride rate and heart rate in large type and nothing else. Tap once to bring the controls back.
Skibuddy follows your iPhone between light and dark: bright for spring glare, dark after sunset. Pair any standard Bluetooth chest strap once and Skibuddy reconnects it at every start, even in the background.
