Common questions
Where should I carry my phone?
In a chest or jacket pocket. From there Skibuddy reads your technique, stride rate, glide and left/right balance from the phone's motion sensors. In a leg pocket Skibuddy still records your route, laps and stride rate, but switches balance off, because your legs swing too much to read it. Choose the pocket once in the app and Skibuddy remembers it for every later session.
Does Skibuddy work with Apple Watch?
Yes. With an Apple Watch paired, Skibuddy shows the session on your wrist: the timer, the lap, your last lap against your average, heart rate and distance. Your iPhone records the session and the watch mirrors it, so carry the phone while you ski.
What does Skibuddy save to Apple Health?
With your permission, Skibuddy saves each finished session to Apple Health as a cross-country skiing workout with its route, distance and heart rate. Skibuddy reads only your resting heart rate, to fill in your profile. You can change access at any time in the Health app.
A session didn't upload. What now?
Skibuddy saves every finished session on your phone first, uploads it when you're back online and tries again if the connection drops. If the upload still fails, the session's card in your feed tells you and offers Retry. Keep Skibuddy installed until the session has uploaded, because deleting the app also deletes sessions still waiting on the phone.
Who can see my sessions?
You choose for each session. Private: only you. Connections & Clubs: your coaches, the athletes you coach and your clubmates. Public: every signed-in Skibuddy user; Skibuddy doesn't publish public sessions on the open web. You can change a session's visibility after you save it.
How do I report content or block someone?
You can report sessions, comments, profiles, clubs and segments in the app, and block a person from their profile. Skibuddy reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content that breaks the terms. The person you report doesn't see who reported them. When you block someone, Skibuddy hides your content from them and theirs from you.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, open Settings from your profile and choose Delete Account. Skibuddy deletes your account, sessions, photos, videos and everything else you added, together with your sign-in, and completes the deletion within 30 days. Deletion is permanent. If you can't sign in, email hello@xcskibuddy.com from the address on your account.
